Valeria Sirangelo was born in the province of Bari (Italy) in 1987.
She graduated with honors in 2007 with Nicola Fiorino, and continued her professional study with Enrico Bronzi at the Academy of Portogruaro, where she won a scholarship in the year 2008. Since then she has studied with Giovanni Gnocchi and Stefano Cerrato at the ‘Academy “Incontri col maestro” in Imola, and with Rocco Filippini at the Academy “W. Stauffer “of Cremona.
She also attended masterclasses by Philippe Muller, Enrico Dindo, Frans Helmerson, Ivan Monighetti, Claudio Marini, Odile Bourin, Beni Santora, Massimo Polidori, Reinhard Latzko, Claudio Bohorquez, Jens Peter Maintz, Laszlo Fenyo, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Wen-Sinn Yang, Yves Savary, Steven Isserlis.
She has been successful in numerous competitions since an early age: Concorso Europeo Dante Alighieri, Taranto, “ Crescere con la Musica” di Sanremo, Concorso Nazionale “Premio città di Brindisi”, Concorso Internazionale “città di Barletta”, Concorso Internazionale “ Premio A. Salieri” di Legnago, Concorso Nazionale “Nuovi Orizzonti di Arezzo”. She was also selected for the Italian Youth Orchestra and for the Gustav Mahler JugendOrchester 2012.
Valeria made her debut as a seventeen year old soloist in 2005, at a performance with the Pelagus Youth Orchestra, where she played The Variations on a Rococò theme, of P.Tchajkovski, for the 2005 season, called “Amici della Musica Mauro Giuliani”.
In 2011 she performed again as soloist with the orchestra “I Musici di Parma’ in the Sebino Summer Festival, playing the concerto in D major G 479 by Boccherini.
She has attended masterclass of chamber music with Konstantin Bogino at the “Nino Rota” conservatory in Monopoli and with Trio di Parma at the Academy of Portogruaro. She also won the following competitions: the National Competition “City of Casamassima,” National Competition ” Igor Stravinsky di Bari.
She has also performed in several seasons and Societies like: Amici della Musica Mauro Giuliani di Barletta, Accademia dei Cameristi di Bari, Fondazione Lirico Sinfonica Petruzzelli e Teatri di Bari, Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, Società dei Concerti di Bari, Fondazione Piccinni, Ritratti Music Festival, Pinè Musica, San Giacomo Festival di Bologna.
Currently she gets training in duo and trio with piano with Giovanni Gnocchi, and attends chamber music lessons at the Conservatorio A. Boito in Parma with Pierpaolo Maurizzi.
She did studies in orchestra at the ‘Academy Gustav Mahler and the Accademia dell’ Orchestra Mozart in Bologna.
She has collaborated with several orchestras: Orchestra Sinfonica della provincia di Bari; Orchestra della Fondazione Petruzzelli; Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Parma; Orchestra “I Musici di Parma”.
She furthered contemporary music with a Master’s degree from the Conservatory of Bari, attended masterclasses at ‘Teatro alla Scala Academy in Milan and at the Gram in Lyon. She has performed at the “Urticanti” festival of contemporary music and made a recording for the Stradivarius label.
