From Sageunay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Sandrine Vachon is a violinist and violist. She studied at the Conservatory of Music in Saguenay with Nathalie Camus and she continues her studies at McGill University with Marcelle Mallette for her Bachelor of music in performance. In 2013, she received the Governor General’s medal for the post-secondary studies.
She also profited form Master classes and lessons with Felicia Moye, Johanne Arel, Jean Angers, Jonathan Swart, Laura Andriani, Denise Lupien and Rachel Barton Pine.
For several years, she performed and received many prizes at the Festival de musique du Royaume. She also plays the viola in the Mendola Quartet who won the first place in the category virtuoso 1 this year at the same festival.
She went few years to Domaine Forget and to the Laurentian Music Center. This summer, she will study at MusicAlp at Tignes, in France, with Christophe Poiget.
Sandrine plays regularly with Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Symphony Orchestra and McGill Symphony Orchestra.
