Georgios Banos was born in July 1999 in Athens. He began his violin studies at the age of 6 in the classes of Prof. N. Sarandithou, D. Semsis and V. Papas. 2009: first prize and special distinction at the Greek national competition “FILON”in the intermediate level category and scholarship in Athens’ Megaron program. May 2010 he performed as a soloist the first part of Haydn’s concerto no. 4 in G major, with the Camerata Orchestra in Athens Megaron Concert Hall. November 2010 Beethoven’s “Romance” in F major at Athens Megaron Concert Hall with the Athenian Youth Symphony Orchestra (A.S.O.N.). January 2011 soloist at the Onassis Cultural Centre with the Orchestra of Colours, first part of F.Mendelssohn’s violin concert in E minor. April 2013 first prize at the National Competition “FILON” in the advanced level category. May 2014, special -“out of competition” first prize in the 5th National Competition “Maria Chairogiorgou-Sigara”, in Athens
VIOLIN COURSES: In Budapest with F.Liszt Academy Professor Eszter Perényi “Austrian Master classes”,” Allegro Vivo”, “Pelion Music Festival”, “Casalmaggiore International Music Festival”, (2010, 2011, 2013), “Internationale Sommerakademie Mozarteum” (with the distinguished professors of the Academy of Vienna Dora Schwartzberg and Lucia Hall) and “Musica Mundi Chamber Music Festival” (2011), where he performed as a soloist the Vivaldi concerto for two violins with the distinguished violinist Maxim Vengerov . From September 2014 until July 2015 he studied in Innsbruck Landeskonservatorium, in the class of Prof. Christos Kanettis and since September 2015 he has been attending the violin class of Prof. Lucia Hall, in Johann Sebastian Bach Musikschule in Vienna with the special scholarship “Gina Bachauer”, from the Spanish Organisation MUNDO EN ARMONIA.
