Fernando Arias Parra was born in 1987 in Plasencia, Spain, and started studying viola at the age of eight. He continued his higher musical education in Spain with Professors Garth Knox and David Quiggle and in the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt, Germany, with Professor Roland Glassl . Currently, he is studying a postgraduate in Nürnberg with Professor Andreas Willwohl.
His orchestra experience ranges from youth orchestras such as JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra), Schleswig-Holstein Musik Orchesterakademie to professional ones like OST (Tenerife Symphonic Orchestra), “Simon Bolviar” orchestra, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and Oper- and Museums Orchestra Frankfurt.
H has played in several chamber music festivals like “Quincena Musical de San Sebastián” (Spain), “Festival of Spanish-Venezuelan arts” (Venezuela), “Festival der Zukunft” (Switzerland), “Toronto summer music festival” (Canada), “Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival” (Germany), “Britten-Pears Festival”, (England). His next engagements are in England with the Norfolk Concerts and Open Chamber Music in Prussia Cove.
Fernando is a devote chamber music player and have been coached from reknown ensembles and musicians such as Nash Ensemble, Casals Quartet, Faure Quartet, Viena Piano Trio, Stephan Picard, David Waterman, Andrew Haveron, Claudius Herrmann, Xenia Jankovic, Elisabeth Kufferath, Hubert Buchberger and Hansheinz Schneeberger
Fernando Arias is a member of “Alondra Quartet” with Sheila Jaffé, Emily Nebel and Guillaume Artus and a principal viola of the Kammerphilharmonie Frankfurt.
