Friedrich David Rothe (23.04.1995) Friedrich started studying piano at age 5 with Annegret Frick at the Dithmarscher Musikschule in Germany. As a frequent participant of the german youth music competition “Jugend Musiziert“, he won several prices and was awarded the 1st price in 2012. Moreover, he has an interest in contemporary music and won the chiffren price in 2011 for the best interpretation of a contemporary piece. He holds a piano scholarship from the Marie-Luise Imbusch foundation. Friedrich has performed throughout North America and Europe, has been part of international music festivals and played with international orchestras in Warsaw and St Petersburg. In 2012 he went to study at the Pearson College UWC in Canada and received piano classes by Dr.Yoomi Kim from the Victoria Conservatory of Music. Friedrich is currently studying Economics, International Relations and Music at the University of St Andrews. His piano teacher is Audrey Innes from the St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh. Friedrich has attented masterclasseses with Walter Prossnitz, Boris Kusnezow and Megumi Masaki.
