Cheng-Ling Chua was born in Malaysia, and started learning piano at the age of eight. She came to Melbourne in 2006 and completed her Bachelor of Music degree under the tutelage of Olga Kharitonova and Igor Machlak. Cheng-Ling was the winner of Celebrating Chopin Competition organized by the Royal South Street Society in 2009. In the same year, she was invited to perform live at the 3MBS radio broadcast in Melbourne.
She loves chamber music, after graduated, she formed a piano trio in Melbourne, named Azure Piano Trio, consisting of violinist Joy Jiyoung Ha and Aaron Yeoh. Apart from piano trio, she has also formed a piano duo named Belling Duo. Her piano duo won several duet/duo competitions and eisteddfods, they were chosen to participate in the Australian Chamber Music Festival Advanced Winterschool and had master classes from artists Julian Jacobson, Brenadine Blaha and Kristian Chong.
