Amelia Jakobsson-Boyarsky, a versatile cellist, originates from Sweden where she studied with Mats Rondin before moving to Denmark and Canada to continue her studies with Morten Zeuthen and Matt Haimovitz.
She received many accolades and great acclaim, quickly establishing a reputation as an enthusiastic advocate of new and unusual works for cello.
Amelia has received many prizes and scholarships, including First Prize in “Young Soloist 2009” performing as a soloist with Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Second Prize in “Ljunggrenska tavlingen 2009”, “Guido Vechi Prize”, “Jarnakerstipendium 2011”, as well as several Concerto Competitions in Scandinavia and Canada.
She has been broadcast as a soloist on Swedish National Radio and Television, XM Radio in USA and Radio Canada. Amelia is also fast establishing a reputation as a talented soprano, often combining this with her work in the Trio Boyarski.
