As a singing actress, Ms. O’Keefe has been described as “mesmerizing” and “captivating.” As a vocal artist she has been praised for both the beauty and the musical sensitivity of her interpretations of a wide-ranging repertoire from Handel and Mozart to Jake Heggie.
Operatic performances include Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, the title role in Handel’s Alcina and Contessa Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro . Recent concert repertoire includes Debussy’s cycle Ariettes oubliées, Strauss’s Drei Lieder der Ophelia and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
Musicians with whom Ms. O’Keefe has had the pleasure to study and work include world class singers Inci Bashar, Jennifer Lane, William Lewis, and Nikita Storojev, and conductors Graeme Jenkins, Keith Clark, Clinton Smith and Stephen Dubberly.
Ms. O’Keefe’s recent publication Selected Operas of Isabelle Aboulker as Repertoire for the University Opera Studio reflects her avid desire to promote the works of living female composers. Ms. O’Keefe was recently awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Voice Performance and Opera from the University of North Texas.
