American violinist Antonio Cevallos began his musical studies at the age of 3, under the direction of Lydia Monahan. From a young age, Antonio showed great ability and interest in music. Upon recognition of his musical talents, he began studying under the illustrious teacher Mark Zinger, a student of David Oistrakh. Other notable teachers include Vadim Gluzman and Cyrus Forough. Antonio is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University under Stefan Hersh.

Antonio had his solo concert debut with the Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra performing Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No. 3, and later received the Arion Award for excellence from the school. Antonio held the position of Principle Second of the Midwest Young Artists Symphony, and in 2007, traveled with the orchestra to China and Korea for a summer tour.

Other experiences include participation in the Meadowmount Music Festival in 2009, and Vocal Arts and Music Festival at Virginia Tech, working with Shmuel Ashkenasi and Matthias Tacke of the acclaimed Vermeer Quartet, as well as Robert DeMaine, Michael Klotz, and David Ehrlich. Masterclass appearances include artists such as William Preucil and Zvi Zeitlin.

Now 22 years old, Antonio has shown great success at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, acting as Assistant Concertmaster of the Symphony Orchestra. He also shows great interest in chamber music. Recent engagements include collaborations with artists such as Dr. David Schrader and Roger Chase. Antonio has also been chosen on numerous occasions to perform in the school’s Showcase recitals, and performed with his quartet for a masterclass with the Pacifica Quartet.
