Will Chen moved to Surrey, Canada from Tai-Chung, Taiwan when he was 5 years old. He started learning violin at the age of 5 and competed in local music festivals at the age of 8. Will played a significant role in his musical community by playing in church services, school concerts and important events involving the community. He has over 7 years of teaching experience in violin and music theory.
Will graduated from University of Victoria this June with a Bachelor’s of Music degree. He has studied under Patricia Shih, Anne Shih, Gwen Thompson and is now currently under the tutelage of Ann Elliott-Goldschmid. Enrolled in the Casalmaggiore International Festival in Italy this coming summer, Will is also planning to pursue a master’s degree in Germany after he graduates from UVic this spring. Will is planning to become a professional chamber musician playing in a quartet and a professional orchestra. Also, he hopes to share his musical knowledge through his passion for teaching.
